Looking for something relaxing and free to do in Pagosa Springs? Make sure to take time to walk along the San Juan river. The Riverwalk just outside of our inn is a beautiful 1.9 mile out and back trail. It's a great walk, nicely paved, and is quite relaxing and soothing. This easy walking trail goes from the center of downtown Pagosa Springs, and continues southward all the way to Yamaguchi Park. Walk towards downtown and check out the wetlands below the thermal strings, or visit restaurants and shops. The river walk trail is great for walkers, cyclists, strollers, and runners. Come stay with us, we're off the beaten path for a quiet, relaxing stay.

Mountain biking usually can be broken down into different categories such as cross country, trail riding, all mountain, downhill, freeride, and dirt jumping. From beginner levels like Turkey Springs, all the way to expert level like Reservoir Hill there is unquestionably a trail that fits your skill level!

Horseback rides are an intriguing way to learn more about nature's scenic and picturesque trails. Galloping on a horse to an adventure by our mountains, hills, cliffs, lakes, creeks, ponds throughout the San Juan National Forest near Pagosa Springs, Colorado is simply extremely beautiful and stunning. With horses that fit every level of riding experience, from the beginner to advanced level for riders aged 7 and up!
BIRDING
Pagosa Springs has the best birdwatching!
Pagosa Springs is a great place for bird watching throughout the year. Join us for the annual Christmas Bird Count, or take a hike on a trail any time of year to see a great variety of birds including the Lewis’s Woodpecker, soaring Ospreys, or the charming American Dippers along the river. The ponds in our backyard are great places to see waterfowl like Buffleheads!
CHIMNEY ROCK

With a brief 23.4 miles from RiverWalk Inn lies Chimney Rock, a breathtaking and astonishing view of what was once home to the Ancestral Puebloans who brought the Chacoan culture. Many current Puebloans believe their ancestors lived at Chimney Rock, especially those from the Rio Grande Pueblos including Picuris, Taos, Acoma, and Zuni.
HOT AIR BALLOONS
See Pagosa Springs from the Air!
There is nothing more picture perfect than seeing Pagosa at 3,000 feet in the sky in a hot air balloon with a 200-mile panoramic view of Pagosa Springs and surrounding nature and horizon. Pagosa Springs offers an annual balloon festival, Colorfest, which includes many different colored balloons. While gliding through the sky don't forget to look out for hawks, ospreys and bald eagles as they soar the air with you!
